Molly Brocklehurst
British artist Molly Brocklehurst was born in 1994. Her work is characterised by her use of a limited palette to create nostalgic narratives. Brocklehurst graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Leeds College of Art in 2016 before completing her MFA at Wimbledon College of Art in 2019. Her work has been exhibited in the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and the USA, recently showing work at the Maddox Gallery in Mayfair. She has had work included in the Wing’s private collection in London and currently has work included in Soho House’s private collection in New York. She was a recipient of the Signature Art Prize in 2020, the Refresh Art Award in 2019 and the Dentons Art Prize in 2018. Molly Brocklehurst now lives and works in Austin, Texas.
At the Nordic Art Agency, we believe in supporting and representing brilliant, young, talented artists. Molly Brocklehurst is an emerging London based figurative painter who captured our attention and intrigue early in 2019 and we have been following her progress ever since. Molly’s paintings are strange fictions that blur the boundary between document and fiction, seeking to create new rituals and new possibilities for our collective histories. Her muted pastel pallets and smoothly contoured figures collide creating uneasy narratives, simultaneously soothing and unsettling.
We are delighted to be representing Molly Brocklehurst’s painting exclusively in the Nordics.
