Bea Sarrias
Influenced by 20th-century American realism, Spanish artist Bea Sarrias is from Barcelona, a city in which she has found the themes that mark the most important aspects of her artistic work: architecture and light.
Bea doesn't paint buildings but instead creates portraits of spaces. Her work is anthropological and is made up of research and photography which documents the past and present of buildings subtly hinting at the presence, and sometimes the absence of their inhabitants.
Her paintings, which are based on the most important works of renowned Spanish and International architects, has received diverse praise and in particular, recognition for her outstanding use of light and shadow.
‘I am interested in perspective, composition and above all light. For me architecture is a tool with which to paint light. Light gives spaces their form and creates presence. With light I aim to capture the very soul of the spaces I paint.’
We are delighted to represent Bea Sarrias exclusively in Sweden and Denmark.
