Visit the gallery and view the new solo exhibition WITHOUT LOCATION by British landscape painter Victoria Curling Eriksson.
Following the success of the solo exhibition Visual Atmosphere in 2022, 18 new oil paintings will be exhibited for this new show. Victoria’s painting has developed into a more nuanced and reductive style, omitting all direct relationship to specific landscape and environmental elements.
Little moments of reflection.
Moments where we leave our external and internal distractions in the world and take a moment to just look around and absorb. To take note of the natural beauty and all the different colours around us.
Magnificent colours in the sky that can never really be captured in photos, as they don’t do justice to the array and depth. They are present for just a moment in time, always totally unique. Like soft summer colours that merge beautifully into a sunset.
Momentary and fleeting.- Victoria Curling Eriksson

The abstract and emotional resonance found in each composition is purely Victoria’s focus. She wishes for the viewer to lose themselves entirely in the many fine layers of oil and intricate brush work and disregard and relationship with time, place or season.
As Victoria paints from memory and stored visual experience she is not documenting a specific location and therefore Without Location represents her musings and expressive landscape painting style.
For this exhibition, like my usual painting style, I have painted images that are a combination of the actual visual observation I have made and my abstract imagination without focusing on exact details. Thus, meaning that the paintings, however much inspired by the Swedish landscapes that surround me, don’t need to have an exact position or place. But rather capture a specific light or atmosphere.
